I have always been drawn to the stories landscapes tell — the way forests hold meaning, the way certain places feel charged with something just beyond explanation. Mystical Murmurs grew out of that fascination. These photographs were made on my property in Connecticut over the course of more than a year, across all four seasons — the same woods, returning again and again, these narratives living just outside my window. The work explores how humans use folklore and myth to interpret the natural world — not as a historical curiosity, but as a living impulse. The need to find meaning in what we cannot fully understand feels as present now as it ever has. These images ask what it means to seek wonder in landscapes that resist full understanding, and what it says about us that we keep looking.
